If you’re looking for the best hotels for a honeymoon in the Philippines, you’ve come to the right place! We know how hard it is to plan a trip of this scale on your own, especially in a destination as spread out as this. That’s why we’ve rolled up our sleeves and selected the best of the best in the places we believe fit best with a honeymoon trip to the Philippines.

From the hotels that will welcome you at your starting point, Manila or Cebu, to imposing resorts with overwater bungalows, all are perfect for celebrating the trip of your lives. In this article we’re going to give you a few pointers on which destinations may suit you best on this adventure and share resort recommendations for your honeymoon in the Philippines so you have everything you need. Keep reading and enjoy the planning!

Which hotel to choose for a honeymoon?

Before booking any hotel, the first thing is to decide which destinations you want to visit. We never tire of saying that there’s a Philippines trip for every kind of traveler. Although there are very well‑known places (for example, El Nido, Boracay or Bohol), that doesn’t mean they’re the best. So our advice is to read a lot about each island and see what fits what you’re looking for. On our website you have guides to each one explained in great detail, as we’ve been exploring them since 2010.

Here are a few examples (without going too deep):

  • If you want beach, beach, and more beach and plenty of downtime after going crazy with the wedding prep: the best thing is to look for honeymoon resorts in the Philippines in places like Boracay or on private islands such as Dimaquiat (Busuanga/Coron), Apulit (Taytay/Palawan) or Pangulasian (El Nido).
  • If you think you’ll get bored with just the beach: Bohol or Siargao are great alternatives.
  • You dive or want to try it in one of the best countries to do so: Malapascua and Bohol will suit you better.
  • If you don’t have a diving license and, for any reason, don’t want to get it, but you do want great snorkeling: Bohol, Siquijor or Moalboal will fit the bill.
  • On any trip around the archipelago, boat tours or island hopping are a must: for that, nothing beats El Nido or Coron.

To help you choose, we have several very enlightening articles: Things to do in the Philippines and Philippines travel itineraries. In Honeymoon trips to the Philippines you’ll also find a couple of routes tailored to this very special adventure.

What did we base our picks on?

It’s worth noting that there are more than 7,000 islands in the archipelago and, of course, there are very remote destinations with hardly any tourist development. In this article we’ve started from the idea that you want comfort and don’t want to spend the whole day in transit; therefore, we’ve chosen accessible places that have resorts or hotels perfect for a honeymoon in the Philippines.

We also assume that on a trip like this it’s essential to have direct access to the sea. For this reason, all of them (except the one in Manila) are on the beach, so that you can enjoy some of the best beaches in the Philippines.

We’ll also give you a few Maldives‑style options—that is, hotels on deserted islands where your only concern is to rest and enjoy each other. Although this won’t define your entire trip (it’s common to spend 3–4 days), you should keep in mind that in this case restaurant choices are limited and the same goes for transport.

Finally, here you’ll only find honeymoon resorts in the Philippines that provide a level of service in line with your expectations. Don’t forget to add a note to your reservation indicating that it’s your honeymoon. Most likely they’ll have a little treat for you when you arrive.

How much does a honeymoon resort in the Philippines cost?

We know there are many types of travelers and every honeymoon is different, but it’s also true that we all have in mind treating ourselves to a little luxury on this long‑awaited trip. Of course, the ever‑present factor of price comes into play here.

While this is a developing country and a fairly affordable destination, at a glance you’ll see that there are honeymoon hotels in the Philippines for every price range. From 100€ per night you can have a nice room with amazing views, but if you want more exclusive resorts with villas over the sea, you’ll need to raise your budget for the Philippines and consider options above 350€. Even so, for those who want something more modest, from 50€ per night you’ll find more than decent rooms.

If you’re willing to splash out, you’ll also find wonderful resorts where what you’re paying for is truly worth it. Treating yourselves to that Asian luxury you’ve heard so much about can be a reality on super‑exclusive islands like Apulit or Dimaquiat or in more accessible, varied destinations like Siargao.

Two things to keep in mind when evaluating the price of the hotel for your honeymoon in the Philippines are meals and transport. If they’re located on isolated islands, these can be significant costs, especially because you’ll have to eat all your meals there. Although there are all‑inclusive resorts (we mention one below), in the Philippines they’re not as common as in Cancún or Punta Cana.

Best places to stay for a honeymoon in the Philippines

With all that said, let’s get down to it and recommend the most romantic hotels for your trip to the Philippines. If a recommendation doesn’t convince you or there’s no availability, at the end of each section you’ll find 2 or 3 extra options.

1. Nay Palad Hideaway (Siargao)

The first of the hotels for your honeymoon in the Philippines had to be the one causing the biggest stir on Instagram: Nay Palad Hideaway. It’s located on the gorgeous island of Siargao, which has become so popular in recent years and will give you those landscapes that come to mind when you think of the Philippines, as well as tons of activities like surfing, island hopping or motorbike rides. And while General Luna and Cloud 9 have filled up with hotels and restaurants, this wonderful resort sits on the super‑quiet Malinao Beach, one of our favorite Siargao beaches.

With a style that blends the best of Bali with Siargao’s typical architecture, nothing is out of place here. The rooms are spectacular villas overlooking the garden or the sea, with decor that goes beyond what you might expect. Besides being huge, you’ll have a wonderful terrace with those sink‑in lounge chairs. Of course, the hotel’s facilities are up to the mark and you’ll have an infinity‑style pool, a restaurant and bar right next to it, a yoga room and Balinese daybeds on the beach.

Finally, Nay Palad is one of the few resorts in the country that offers an “all‑inclusive” plan, so it’s ideal for couples who want total relaxation without being completely isolated. If you’re up for it, from the hotel you’ll be able to explore the island at your own pace. Without a doubt, one of the best resorts in Siargao.

Other, slightly more affordable honeymoon hotels in Siargao: Kalinaw Resort and Isla Cabana.

2. Shangri-La’s Boracay Resort and Spa (Boracay)

Boracay is, without question, the island with the best accommodation in the country and where you’ll probably find the best hotels for your honeymoon in the Philippines with excellent value for money. Among the places where to stay in Boracay and the best resorts in Boracay, the one you should choose for a trip like this is the Shangri‑La property, which also sits on two wonderful beaches, one of them private.

Shangri‑La’s Boracay Resort is a true 5‑star. Spa, gym, several pools, green areas, high‑end restaurants and renowned service in line with what you’re paying. As for the rooms, you can choose between double rooms, suites or luxurious villas with a private pool. All have a private terrace to enjoy the surroundings and include a very varied buffet breakfast.

Boracay has some of the best beaches in the country. With white sand, turquoise water and coconut trees, they’re true paradises for relaxing. Plus, you’ll have tons of beachfront restaurants, water activities and wellness businesses. In our opinion, it’s the ideal destination for couples who want a romantic trip and to unwind after the stress of planning the wedding. With 3 or 4 days at this hotel, you’ll come out renewed.

3. Oceanica Resort Panglao (Bohol)

As we explain in Where to stay in Bohol, you have several area options. Without question, the best for those who want convenience and, above all, to enjoy one of the best beaches in Bohol is Dumaluan Beach, in Panglao. Here you’ll find beautiful resorts right on the shore, with cabanas directly facing the sea and, therefore, we didn’t hesitate for a second to include one of them among these honeymoon resorts in the Philippines. Plus, if you’re a couple who values the beach but also a bit of variety in activities, from here you can comfortably take trips to the waterfalls of Bohol and other points of interest like the Chocolate Hills.

For us, Oceanica Resort Panglao is the hotel in Panglao we’d choose for a special moment like a honeymoon. It’s located on the best stretch of Dumaluan Beach, a huge, wide area of white sand, calm waters and super‑sleek palm trees. The resort has impressive villas with all the modern comforts directly facing the sea and simpler, yet ideal rooms at lower prices.

Of course, it also has several restaurants, a wonderful bar for sunset cocktails (easy with the happy hour), a pool, spa, gym, kayaks—everything you can think of to make the experience complete. In addition, if you want to switch things up or save a little, Alona Beach—where most of the interesting places to eat in Bohol are—is just 20 minutes away by transport.

And if this one doesn’t quite convince you, take a look at our article Best resorts in Bohol and Panglao.

4. El Nido Resorts Miniloc Island (El Nido)

All of the above is lovely, but maybe you’ve been picturing yourselves from the start in an overwater bungalow in the Philippines. Fair enough—waking up early to those views is a real treat, especially in a place like El Nido.

This time we’re recommending one of the best resorts in El Nido, located in one of the most iconic spots, right next to the Big Lagoon. This is one of the must‑see lagoons on the El Nido island‑hopping tours, and you’ll be able to reach it by paddling or swimming once all the day visitors have left.

El Nido Resorts Miniloc Island belongs to one of the most prestigious hotel groups in the archipelago, so impeccable service is guaranteed. In addition to bungalows and rooms with sea views, you can choose other slightly more affordable accommodations just a few steps from the beach. Of course, you can enjoy the infinity‑style pool, several restaurants and bars, a gym, clinic, shop, spa and dive center.

And while it’s not a cheap hotel, keep in mind that it’s one of the most emblematic honeymoon resorts in the Philippines and that the island‑hopping tours are included in the price, as well as breakfast and transfers. In short, you won’t regret the investment in happiness and memories.

5. Club Paradise Resort Palawan (Busuanga)

Heads up: here’s a somewhat remote recommendation for couples who want to feel a bit like Robinson Crusoe—without giving up the luxuries. Club Paradise Resort is located on Dimaquiat Island.

If you look at the map we’ve left at the end of this article, it’s just north of Busuanga, the huge island where you’ll find Coron Town, the jumping-off point for the best island hopping in Coron. In other words, it’s a perfect place to relax, but we don’t recommend it as a base if what you want is to discover Coron’s most popular spots. In that case, it’s much better to move on to point number 6. This island does not replace a stay in Coron, but from Club Paradise Resort you can go diving, try to swim alongside the amazing dugongs (sea cows), enjoy a paradisiacal beach and visit spectacular neighboring islands.

What makes this property a perfect hotel for a honeymoon in the Philippines? Beyond its location—on a private island with a postcard-perfect beach—its wonderful beachfront cabanas with every comfort: air conditioning, minibar, TV, safe… Add to that a pool, restaurant, beach bar, gym, dive center and spa. Oh, and if you want to renew your vows somewhere special, they also organize beach weddings!

✈️ To get there, you can fly into Busuanga Airport and have the hotel pick you up, or go all out and head straight to the resort by seaplane with Air Trav.

6. Marina del Sol Resort & Yatch Club (Busuanga/Coron)

If you’ve chosen Coron as one of the must-see places on your Philippines travel itinerary, then it’s better to stay somewhere relatively close to Coron Town, the starting point for the boat tours. Since the town itself isn’t very pretty, for a trip as special as this our advice is to focus on the Concepción area.

This village is just about 40 minutes from Coron Town by car/motorbike and is far more pleasant—especially if you stay around the extraordinary Busuanga Bay. From there you can do all the activities available in Coron (tours, diving, waterfalls…), while enjoying the island’s tranquility and scenery. In fact, this area is much closer to the most popular wrecks and to spectacular yet less touristy islands like Pass Island or Maltatayoc.

Among the most recommendable hotels in Busuanga Bay, Marina del Sol Resort & Yatch Club best fits what you’re looking for in your list of honeymoon resorts in the Philippines. Owned by Spaniards, the hotel is perched on a hill, so amazing views are guaranteed from the rooms as well as from the restaurant and the pool. You can choose between the villa (with private terrace and hammocks), the cabin or the charming little house—all with air conditioning, TV and Wi‑Fi. Marina del Sol also has a yacht mooring area—hence the name—and a dive club. So getting your fill of the sea is more than guaranteed.

✈️ If you’re wondering how to get there, don’t worry—it’s very easy. You can leave it in the hotel’s hands or do it yourself. The latter is explained here: How to get to Concepción. As in the previous case, Airtrav also offers seaplanes that will drop you at the resort’s doorstep.

7. Crimson Resort & Spa (Mactan, Cebu)

Staying a long time in Cebu City isn’t something we highly recommend given all the beautiful islands to visit in the Philippines. However, if you have to lay over or don’t want to risk missing your international flight and plan to spend a night or two near the airport, there are some interesting things to do in Cebu and, most importantly, excellent resorts to unwind.

As we mention in Where to stay in Cebu, the city itself doesn’t have a beach, but the neighboring island of Mactan does. It’s connected to Cebu Island by two bridges and is where the airport is located. Therefore, it’s the best area to stay during your honeymoon. A quick heads-up: most beaches in Mactan (or at least the best ones) have private access through the hotels—hence the importance of booking one that guarantees you’ll be able to enjoy the sea.

Among them, the one we recommend is Crimson Resort & Spa. With a private beach, you can also take a dip in one of its huge pools, enjoy its restaurants, or gaze at the sea views right from your room. Something we have to highlight compared with other resorts in the area is the room décor, which prioritizes local craftsmanship. If you want to go all out, we’d book a villa with sea view and private pool without a second thought.

8. Tepanee Beach Resort (Malapascua)

If you’re looking for hotels for your honeymoon in the Philippines that are awesome without going over budget, Malapascua is an option to consider. Granted, you won’t have landscapes like El Nido’s or jaw-dropping beaches right by the resort like in Boracay, but you can take in the inimitable colors of the Philippine sea from your bed for under 100€ a night and, of course, enjoy Malapascua’s local vibe—which we’re in love with. Plus, in case you didn’t know, diving in Malapascua is a must if you love the sport. The thresher shark awaits!

Among all the hotels in Malapascua, our pick would be Tepanee Beach Resort. Located on the island’s southwest tip, it has cabanas with direct sea views and a super-pleasant terrace from which to enjoy the stunning sunsets Malapascua always delivers. While it’s not a mega‑resort, you can enjoy the gym, a small beach with loungers, and an attached restaurant (one of the best on the island) and bar.

9. El Nido Resorts Apulit Island (Palawan)

Don’t let the name fool you—this resort is not in El Nido. It’s called that because it belongs to the El Nido Resorts group. It’s located on Apulit Island, which belongs to Palawan, but it’s accessed from Taytay, on the Palawan coast opposite El Nido. In short, it’s a safe bet for those who want the pleasure of being on a private island with an impressive beach, but it doesn’t replace a stay in El Nido, and we don’t recommend it if must‑dos for you include the island‑hopping tours, since you’ll need almost 3 hours to reach the port where the boats depart.

Apulit Island is very similar to those that make up the Bacuit archipelago. Here you’ll also find towering limestone walls, white, powdery sand beaches and breathtaking marine life. The resort is truly incredible, made up of overwater bungalows connected by walkways built over the water. Plus, the best part of not being in such a touristy area is that prices are much better than at the chain’s other hotels—but you’ll still enjoy 5‑star service.

All in all, we recommend booking this resort if you’re after exclusivity and privacy, want pretty beaches and good snorkeling, and plan to complement it with a stay at another hotel in El Nido. Doing 3 nights in El Nido and 2 nights here would be an ideal combo.

✈️ How to get to this resort? The most convenient way is to fly into El Nido Airport and have the hotel pick you up from there. First you’ll go by van to Taytay (90 minutes) and then take a boat (40–50 minutes).

10. Okada Manila (Manila)

We couldn’t leave this list of hotels for a honeymoon in the Philippines without including an accommodation in Manila, the capital. Many travelers pass through at some point, whether because they want to spend a night or two on a layover or explore a bit of the city’s cultural side. In our opinion, a good idea is to save it for the end to make sure you don’t miss your international flight home. For that grand finale, a night at Okada Manila won’t leave you indifferent.

Located relatively close to the airport, Intramuros and the Mall of Asia, the paradise of shopping in Manila, this is one of the city’s most modern and impressive hotels. It’s a huge complex dominated by a massive golden building that houses a casino, several top‑tier restaurants, luxury shops, gym, spa, multiple pools, meeting and event rooms and, of course, spectacular rooms with direct views of Manila Bay, where you can enjoy gorgeous sunsets.

The simplest rooms have an impressive bathroom where you can soak while gazing at a view that stretches to the horizon. Going up in category and price—it’s no wonder celebrities stay here when they visit Manila—the Manila Bay Suite even has an epic hot tub, two bedrooms, three bathrooms and a living room. A true 5‑star that will put the cherry on top of a magical trip around the Philippines.
