How to get from Siquijor to Camiguin? More and more travelers are looking for the best way to do this route. These are two relatively close islands; however, there is no direct transport between them, so figuring out how to connect them can be a bit confusing.
We’re here to untangle things. Below we’ll tell you how to get from Siquijor to Camiguin (and, at the end, the reverse way) via Bohol or via Cebu. Unless, for whatever reason, you have to spend the night in Cebu, we think it makes much more sense to go via Bohol—but it’s your call!
How to get from Siquijor to Camiguin via Bohol
Given that there’s no direct boat from Siquijor to Camiguin, if you look at the map, this is the route that makes the most sense. However, you need to keep the ferry schedules from Siquijor to Bohol and from there to Camiguin in mind so you can line everything up properly.
Step 1: From Siquijor to Bohol (Tagbilaran)
The first thing you need to know is that ferries from Siquijor to Bohol depart from different ports. Siquijor Poblacion is the closest to most accommodations, whereas Larena takes about 40 minutes to reach from the San Juan area.
At the moment there are 5 ferries from Siquijor to Bohol:
- Oceanjet: has a daily fast ferry at 8:20 and 14:30 from the Siquijor Poblacion pier. It takes just 90 minutes to reach Tagbilaran (Bohol). You can book here.
- Supercat: departs at 7:30, but it takes a couple of hours to reach Tagbilaran and it leaves from Larena Port. You can book from this link. (WARNING with this company because it’s common for them to cancel trips for maintenance; it’s not as reliable as Oceanjet)
- Apekoptravel: has a ferry every day at 13:00 from Larena pier and it takes a couple of hours to arrive. Book here. (Same as Supercat, it’s not as reliable as Oceanjet)
- Lite Ferries: runs a slow ferry that departs at 19:00 every day except Mondays from Siquijor to Cebu with a stop in Tagbilaran. It arrives in Bohol around 22:00. This is much cheaper, but keep in mind it departs from Larena port. You can also reserve here.
You’ll find an even clearer explanation in How to get from Siquijor to Bohol.
ATTENTION: as you’ll see below, depending on the ferry schedules from Bohol to Camiguin, the ones from Siquijor to Bohol can be a bit tight. Therefore, you might have to spend the night in Bohol. You can stay in Tagbilaran, since, being the capital, you’ll find more restaurants and hotels than in Jagna. Here we recommend the Oasis Balili Heritage Lodge and the Sweet Home Boutique Hotel.
Step 2: From Tagbilaran to Jagna
Ferries from Bohol to Camiguin don’t depart from Tagbilaran port but from Jagna, so you’ll need to make your way to this town in the south of the island.
How to do it? Take a tricycle (around 50 pesos) or a jeepney to the DAO Terminal (Integrated Bus Terminal on Google Maps) and look for the buses or vans to Jagna. The bus ride takes about 90 minutes and the ticket is roughly 100–150 pesos, depending on whether it has air conditioning.
The bus will drop you next to the market, which is right in front of the port, so you only need to walk. Remember to buy some food or take the chance to eat at the carinderias behind the market.
If it’s your first time in the country, we recommend our article How to get around the Philippines. This way you’ll get familiar with the transport options and won’t get overwhelmed.
Step 3: From Jagna to Camiguin
The last step to get from Siquijor to Camiguin is to take the ferry from Jagna to Balbagon (Camiguin). The only company operating it is Super Shuttle, which departs daily at 14:30. The cheapest ticket costs 766 pesos and it takes about 3–4 hours to arrive.
Fortunately, you can already book online from this page or from this one (compare prices—both are trustworthy). If you want to do it in person at the ticket office, try to arrive 1–2 hours early so you don’t end up without a ticket. This is particularly important during high-demand periods such as Holy Week, Christmas, or local holidays. Note that if your trip is still far off, tickets may not be on sale yet; you’ll need to wait a bit because they usually come out roughly one week before the trip.
You’ll find a little more detail in How to get to Camiguin.
Welcome to Camiguin! The cheapest way to reach your hotel in Camiguin will be to use the motorelas. If you’re heading to Yumbing, where most accommodations are, you’ll need to take one to Mambajao (10–12 pesos per person) and then another to Yumbing (12–15 pesos). You can also negotiate a single one for the entire journey, which is around 150 pesos.
On the other hand, if you want, you can rent a motorbike right at the port. If you need a reliable contact, you can leave us a comment and we’ll send you everything we have.

How to get from Siquijor to Camiguin via Cebu
If, for whatever reason, linking boats and land transport isn’t your thing or you want to go via Cebu, you can consider this other alternative to get from Siquijor to Camiguin. Keep in mind it won’t be super straightforward, but with patience you’ll make it. The steps are as follows:
Step 1: From Siquijor to Cebu
As in the previous route, you’ll need to head to the Larena port or the Siquijor Poblacion one, depending on your choice. You’ll have to choose between:
- Oceanjet: the daily fast ferry departs at 8:20 and 14:30. It takes around 4 hours to reach Cebu’s Pier 1 and makes a quick stop in Bohol. It departs from Poblacion. Book here.
- Supercat: departs at 7:30 from Larena and arrives in Cebu around 12:00. You can book from this link. (Watch out for cancellations)
- Lite Ferries: has a slow ferry that departs at 19:00 every day except Mondays from Siquijor to Cebu. It takes about 11 hours to arrive, but it’s cheaper. It leaves from Larena. You can book here.
- Apepkoptravel + another boat to Cebu: you already know it departs at 13:00 from Larena to Bohol. Once there, you’ll need to connect with another Oceanjet or other company’s boat to Cebu.
You also have the option to go to Cebu by bus or by plane (going first to Dumaguete), but these are longer alternatives that we don’t think will interest you. Even so, they’re explained in How to get to Cebu from Siquijor.
Step 2: From Cebu port to the airport or your accommodation
If you chose the Oceanjet, Supercat, or Apepkop boat, due to the flight schedules to Camiguin, you’ll have to spend the night in Cebu. In this case, you can stay near the port, in a more central area, or right by the airport. You’ll find plenty of recommendations in Where to stay in Cebu.
Are there 2 or more of you? Then we’d keep it simple and use a white taxi (they always use the meter) or order a Grab car to reach your accommodation. Otherwise, you can make several jeepney combinations (you’ll have no choice but to ask because the network is a bit chaotic) or, if you’re going to the airport, combine the MyBus buses.
As a rough guide, a taxi from the port to the airport costs around 250–300 pesos. The price and time depend on the traffic. If you don’t want to cut it close, always allow 40–60 minutes for transfers within Cebu, unless you’re traveling at dawn or very early.
Step 3: Flight from Cebu to Camiguin
All that’s left in this route from Siquijor to Camiguin is the flight. As of today, Cebu Pacific Air offers flights almost daily and sometimes up to 2 a day. The flight takes just 50 minutes and, if you buy in advance, it’s rare for them to cost more than 20€. They usually depart early in the morning or around midday, but check schedules:
Camiguin airport is relatively close to Yumbing, the barangay where most hotels are. You can head out to the road and hop into any motorela going that way. It won’t cost more than 10 pesos per person.
If you want, we also have a motorbike rental contact at the airport. You can leave us a comment and we’ll send it to you.

How to get from Camiguin to Siquijor
You already know the reverse route, but here we want to talk about the specifics of going from Camiguin to Siquijor. The key difference comes down to ferry and flight schedules, which will determine whether you have to spend the night somewhere along the itinerary.
From Camiguin to Siquijor via Bohol
Ferries from Balbagon (Camiguin) to Jagna (Bohol) depart at 9:30 every day and arrive around 12:30–13:00. The company is also Super Shuttle and you can book your ticket at this link and from this other one.
Once in Jagna, walk to the main road and wait for any bus or van bound for Tagbilaran. The journey takes roughly 1.5 hours and costs around 100–150 pesos. Most likely you’ll be dropped at the DAO Terminal, so take a tricycle or jeepney into town.
At this point, you should know there are 3 companies that cover the route between Bohol and Siquijor:
- Oceanjet: has a daily fast ferry at 7:30 and 15:20. It takes about 1 hour and 20 minutes. It arrives at Poblacion port, which is closer to most accommodations. You can book here.
- Supercat: departs daily at 15:00, but it takes 2 hours and arrives at Larena port. Since it costs the same as Oceanjet, we think it’s less worthwhile. In any case, you can book from this link. (Be careful with this company, as it often cancels for maintenance; it’s not as reliable as Oceanjet)
- Apekoptravel: departs daily at 10:00 from Tagbilaran to arrive at Larena port in Siquijor around 12:00. You can book here. (It’s not the most reliable either)
- Lite Ferries: operates a ferry every day except Sundays at 20:00, arriving in Siquijor at 23:00. You can book here.
What does this mean? If you’re planning to go from Camiguin to Siquijor on a Sunday, you may need to stay overnight in Bohol unless you hire a car to get you quickly to the port (you can ask us for one in the comments) or find a van going quickly to Tagbilaran. Our advice is to stay around Tagbilaran so you can head to the port calmly the next morning. You’ll find recommendations in Hotels in Tagbilaran.
Once at the Siquijor port, you can take a tricycle or a multicab to your hotel in Siquijor.
From Camiguin to Siquijor via Cebu
It’s also possible to do the Siquijor–Camiguin journey via Cebu. It’s an alternative we find a bit less comfortable, but you might find it more appealing. Here are the steps:
- Flight from Camiguin to Cebu: Cebu Pacific Air usually offers one per day, most often around midday. The trip takes about 40 minutes. Check the schedules and book here.
- Transfer to Cebu port or your accommodation: use white taxis or order a Grab car. If you want to save money, you can link jeepneys or take the MyBus buses. If you need to stay near the port, we recommend Cebu Hotel Plus, which is in the Fuente Osmeña area, where you’ll find lots of shops and restaurants.
- Ferry from Cebu to Siquijor: the fastest option is the Oceanjet ferry, which sails daily at 5:10 and 13:00 from Pier 1. The journey is almost 3.5 hours. You can reserve your seat here. The other alternative is Lite Shipping, which has a ferry every day except Sundays that departs Cebu at 13:00 and arrives in Siquijor at 23:00.
As you can see, in this case it’s also very likely that you’ll have to spend the night in Cebu. Take the opportunity to discover some of the attractions we mention in Things to do in Cebu.
Additionally, you can go to Siquijor from Cebu by bus or by plane (via Dumaguete). It’s unlikely to be shorter, but you could take a look to see if it suits you better. You’ll find everything in How to get from Cebu to Siquijor.
