On many Philippines itineraries, most travelers set aside a few days to enjoy this lovely island that has so much to offer. When it comes to figuring out where to stay in Siquijor, before you start choosing the hotel you’ll be staying at, it’s worth knowing the island’s areas and why one might suit you better than another.
In this Guide to Resorts and Hotels in Siquijor you’ll find everything you need to decide where to head and discover the best places to rest after a long day enjoying waterfalls, beaches and caves. There’s a lot of things to do in Siquijor and you deserve the best place to recharge!
Where to stay in Siquijor: the island’s best areas
Siquijor isn’t as big as Bohol, but it’s still a sizeable island that will take you almost a full day to loop around, since the interior is mountainous enough to make crossing it quickly a challenge. That’s why we strongly suggest you look for accommodation in Siquijor in a convenient area—one with restaurants and bars so you don’t need to move much at night and with the main sights reasonably close. Spoiler: that’s San Juan, without a doubt, but we’ll explain everything below.
Staying in San Juan, the island’s main area
The San Juan area, being the most touristy on the island (don’t expect Benidorm—Siquijor is far from the crowds), is the one with the most options to stay in Siquijor. The biggest plus of choosing your hotel here is having more services at your fingertips. If you need supermarkets, motorbike rental, dive centers, restaurants or bars for a drink, you’ll easily find them here. Plus, it’s relatively close to most places you’ll want to visit on the island, including several nice snorkeling spots, and also to Siquijor Port (Población), where most boats from Bohol and Dumaguete (Negros) arrive.
For all these reasons, we believe that San Juan is the best area to stay in Siquijor. Since tourism on the island is still quite limited, it remains an ideal base to be in the thick of things without feeling like it. Businesses are actually scattered along the main road, so you won’t get the sense of living in a tourist bubble, and you can even find carenderias around the little town of San Juan.
Staying in Solangon: resorts and spectacular sunsets
Solangon belongs to the San Juan area, but it deserves its own mention because it has lots of resorts and a few standout restaurants. If you look for a hotel in Siquijor in this area, you’ll be much closer to one of the island’s most popular beaches, Paliton Beach, and you can reach San Juan town in about 5 minutes by motorbike or tricycle.
Since it’s so close to San Juan and the tourist area has already expanded both ways, we can really group them together.
Staying near Larena: gateways into and out of the island
Larena has one of the main ports for arriving to and departing from the island (boats from Apekop and Lite Ferries dock here) and, little by little, new hotels and resorts are being built nearby. More and more travelers are choosing to stay here and explore the island from this base. For example, in the Sandugan area (on maps you’ll see Enrique Villanueva) there are a few basic little hotels with great sea views. Quite possibly, in a few years this side of the island will gain importance. If you’re after the quietest area of Siquijor, this is it.
Even so, keep in mind that if you want nightlife or cool places for dinner, San Juan is almost 40 minutes away. It’s definitely not our favorite area for exploring the island.
Staying on Siquijor’s east side: Lazi and Maria
Siquijor is gradually becoming more popular and, as new visitors arrive, new resorts and hotels keep appearing. One of the areas that’s slowly opening up to travelers is the island’s east side. The areas of Lazi and Maria still have limited options for now, but they’re a good choice if you want to be close to sights like Cambugahay Falls, the Century-old Tree and Salagdoong Beach.
It’s not our favorite area to stay in Siquijor because it’s far from the ports and there aren’t many restaurants, but there are more and more good, cheap little hotels, and it can work if you’re looking for something budget-friendly and an almost non‑touristy vibe. You’ll find a selection of the best places below.

Hotels in San Juan, Siquijor
This is the area we recommend to stay in Siquijor, without a doubt. As you’ll see on the map, it’s a fairly extensive area spread along the main road, where all the businesses are located. In our opinion, the best way to discover the island—if you drive and have experience—is by motorbike (leave us a comment and we can share a great contact), but if you stay around here you can also flag down one of the many tricycles that pass along the road with no problem.
Where to stay on a budget in Siquijor (backpacker accommodation) – San Juan area
If you want something cheap to stay in Siquijor, San Juan is, without a doubt, the best area. Here are some options for both couples and solo island‑hoppers:
Residencia Diosa
Residencia Diosa is a good pick if you’re looking for a cheap place to stay in Siquijor near the San Juan area. Its economy double room can be had from just $15 and comes with a private bathroom. They also have shared dorms for 10 people from only $8 a night, so it’s great if you want to save. Best of all, you’ll have the beach right in front of your hut without needing to grab a bike or walk, plus there’s a great snorkeling area. The Wi‑Fi is surprisingly strong—even good enough for video calls.

Tagbalayon Lodging House
Tagbalayon Lodging House is the place you’re looking to stay in Siquijor if you want peace and quiet at a good price. Located right in San Juan, surrounded by restaurants and next to the Tubod Sanctuary—which is, for us, the best on the island—the staff are so lovely you won’t want to leave (say hi to Cherry, she’s delightful). They also have a very affordable restaurant serving tasty homemade food. They rent motorbikes at good rates, arrange port transfers and offer free drinking‑water stations, which saves plastic and money.
As for prices, they have double and quadruple rooms from only $23 and bunks in a shared room from just $7—what a bargain! We recommend booking early because rooms go fast.

Lazy Lizard Hostel
If you want a good vibe in San Juan—peaceful, but not too far from the main road—and to meet people, this is your spot! Set right in the “jungle”, they have shared rooms from $11 and well‑priced doubles. The owners are super friendly and you can rent motorbikes right there with no fuss. They also serve banana pancakes for breakfast that are a treat. A great idea for staying in Siquijor if you’re traveling solo.

Fable Hostel
If you’re traveling solo, want to meet people and be in a hostel that’s, let’s say, more “proper”, we recommend checking out Fable Hostel. The facilities are incredible, with (mixed or female‑only) 8‑bed dorms that are extremely spacious, air‑conditioned, with beds that have their own curtain and outlet, modern lockers and pleasant common areas that make it easy to socialize.
As for the location, it’s on the road leading to Paliton Beach, which is possibly the best beach in Siquijor. Although it used to feel a bit empty, several other hostels and restaurants have popped up, so you won’t lack options if you don’t feel like riding a bike at night. By the way, this Siquijor hostel also rents them at good prices.

- Little Nomads eco-guesthouse: if you don’t mind staying somewhere very simple but clean and well located, you’ll feel at home here. They serve delicious artisan bread for breakfast and also have a kitchen if you want to save a bit. Homely vibe from just $6 for a bed and $12 for a double room. See prices here.
- Isla de Paz Beach Resort: getting a room (with shared bathroom) for $17 right by the sea is doable. Check it out via this link.
- Aventura Bed and Breakfast: if you want traditional bamboo huts in a good location and from just $14, this is your place. Breakfasts are amazing. Book here.

Where to stay in San Juan (Siquijor) – Mid-range options
If you want to step things up a little, Siquijor is a great island because you can stay right by the sea without paying a fortune like in other Philippines destinations (El Nido, Coron, Boracay, etc.). Here are the ones we think offer the best value for money:
Tropical Fun Ta Sea Rentals
This is one of our favorite places to stay in Siquijor: Tropical Fun Ta Sea Rentals. Modern, brand‑new rooms with contemporary décor and all of it right on the seafront in a strategic spot near the Solangon area.
If you’re traveling as a family, this is among the most recommended hotels on the island because, in addition to large, comfy rooms for up to 4 people, it offers lots of games and water activities for kids. Prices are fantastic too, from $40 a night for a room with sea views. Book quickly—it often sells out!

Mandala Tribe Treehouses
Heads‑up about a new addition to places to stay in Siquijor that will win you over. Opened in 2019, these “tree houses” are spectacular. Boho‑style (take a look at the photos—you’ll be amazed at the interiors) and with open‑sky bathrooms in classic Balinese style, and super friendly staff. If you want total peace, this is your place. Internet also works quite well.
Although they don’t serve dinner, they do offer a fantastic breakfast at the restaurant so you won’t miss a thing. We suggest booking as soon as possible because it’s one of the Siquijor hotels that fills up the fastest.

Coral Cay Resort
This was the hotel we chose for our first stay in Siquijor and we suspect it’s one of the reasons we’ve returned so often. Why? This accommodation in the heart of San Juan sits right on the beach and has a bar/restaurant where you can enjoy sublime sunsets (check the photo below and you’ll see). It’s true the hotel is a bit dated, but being able to sleep next to the sea from $30 feels like a real luxury. If you can stretch the budget, the beach bungalows are truly wonderful. Honestly, waking up in a place like this might be one of the highlights of your trip.
By the way, San Juan Beach is nice but not very deep, so swimming at low tide is almost mission impossible. Don’t worry, for a dip you’ve got the hotel pools.

More mid‑range places to stay in Siquijor – San Juan
Here are more alternatives around $30–60 for staying in Siquijor:
- Elnora Delmar Travellers Inn: perfect location on the main road in the Lalao area and therefore close to everything. Opened in 2022, so it’s super new, with rooms from $35 a night and a small pool. See prices here.
- Swakihan Guest House: a new place very close to the previous one, but this one is right by the sea, where there’s also a restaurant with great views. From just $34 for 2 people, we think it’s one of the best places to stay in Siquijor. Book fast via this link.
- Dolce Amore Resort: although restaurant prices have gone up a lot in recent years, the value for money at this Siquijor hotel is very good. Opened during the pandemic, it’s small and has modern rooms as well as a great pool that’s perfect for cooling off. It runs around $50–60 a night depending on the time of year. Check the photos—they’re stunning— here.
- Nakabalo Guest House: another new addition to the island—this one “up in the hills” but close to the main road. Its infinity pool with views of the sea and Negros Island earns it a spot on this list of hotels in Siquijor. Book via this link.
Resorts in Siquijor – San Juan area
If you’re after all the comforts, here are some of the best resorts in Siquijor:
Coco Grove Beach Resort
Coco Grove Beach Resort is one of our favorite places to stay in Siquijor. This large complex offers a wide variety of room types and villas where you can unwind after a day full of adventures. Its 3 pools, two restaurants, dive shop and beachfront massage cabanas may well make it hard to leave.
What’s more, the Tubod Marine Sanctuary is on its private beach, so you can also enjoy its spectacular biodiversity. Despite having plenty of rooms, it tends to fill up quickly—book as soon as you decide. If you’re thinking about a honeymoon in the Philippines, this is your spot!

White Villas Resort
White Villas Resort is surely the best resort to stay in Siquijor in the Solangon area. Comfortable, spacious rooms; pools; beachfront; a restaurant with a tasty menu; shops nearby but away from the bustle… Plus, they offer one hour per day of free kayak use to paddle along their beach. A highly recommended option!
Here you can read an in‑depth review of White Villas Resort, where we show you—with photos and video—what our last 10‑day stay at this hotel was like: Review of Siquijor’s White Villas Resort.

Infinity Sands Resort
A few meters from Coco Grove Beach Resort you’ll find Infinity Sands Resort. It offers large, fully renovated rooms, a small pool, live music at the bar and, above all, spectacular sunset views from its terrace. Another strong point is the excellent treatment from the staff, known for always trying to help guests make the most of their time on the island.

More resorts in Siquijor around San Juan
If the above don’t quite fit, here are other great Siquijor hotels for a bit of luxury:
- Bermuda Triangle Bungalows: a bit like Mandala Tribe’s vibe, with Balinese‑style bungalows featuring super‑careful aesthetics and open‑air bathrooms. It’s very close to the Tubod Sanctuary, which is, for us, a perfect location. Take a look here.
- Island Casitas: halfway between mid‑range and a top hotel, this place a stone’s throw from San Juan town has cabins you’ll easily fall in love with. Book now via this link.
Hotels near Larena
As we mentioned above, Larena is the area by the port on the island’s north side. For us, it isn’t the most convenient—unless you need to overnight there for transport reasons. Even so, some decent little hotels keep popping up and many of them are right by the sea. So, if you don’t mind long motorbike rides or you spot a beachfront place that suits you, go for it! Below we cover the best ones, mostly around Sandugan, which is the prettiest part.
Kalachuchi Beach Resort
Kalachuchi Beach Resort is the go‑to resort to stay in Siquijor around Larena. Set atop a small hill facing the sea, it offers wonderful views and picture‑perfect sunrises. Large rooms, a pool and great service are its strong points. Its two‑storey cabins have private bathrooms and an upper terrace with a unique panorama. The downside for those who always want to be connected is the weak internet signal. An ideal place to disconnect!

Casa de la Playa Beach Resort
If you’re after a hotel in Siquijor in a quiet area, with an almost private beach and mid‑priced bungalows right on the seafront, Casa de la Playa Beach Resort is well worth considering. They offer motorbike rental so you can explore the island from there and, if you like snorkeling, you can enjoy pretty coral just a few meters from the shore. Its décor and style have a colorful, Balearic feel that’s a lot of fun.

A couple more alternatives for staying around Larena
- La Villa Alta: don’t expect anything luxurious, but double rooms facing the sea are $11.
- Islanders Beach Paradise: rooms are a little nicer and it’s right on the beach. If what you want is peace, you’ll have it from $23 a night.
Hotels in Siquijor around the Lazi area
As we hinted above, there are more and more little hotels around Lazi and Maria, and many travelers decide to stay here either because the value for money is good or to be closer to the beaches in this area and waterfalls like Cambugahay Falls. In Lazi you’ll find several cheap carenderias and affordable restaurants like Twenty4, one of our favorites places to eat in Siquijor. You’ll need to rent a motorbike because public transport is scarce, but if that’s not an issue, check out these places:
Zosimo’s Inn
When we talked about good value‑for‑money accommodation to stay in this part of the island, we had something like this little hotel in mind, right in Lazi town. Its modern, spacious rooms have air‑conditioning, a fridge, water heater, smart TV (with Netflix) and Wi‑Fi that works great if you need to work remotely. With double rooms from just $30, including a pretty decent breakfast, you can’t ask for more.

The Gabayan Riviera
Located in the Gabayan area, a few minutes from Lazi, this new hotel has fabulous sea views and double rooms—even with a small kitchen—from just $50 (when this could easily be a 4‑star). The pool is a powerful reason to stay here, as are the staff, who will help you arrange everything you need on the island: motorbike rental, transport to the port, etc. If you can’t be bothered to move, they also have a restaurant.

Xylla Guesthouse
Halfway between San Juan and Lazi is this place whose cheapest room is around $7. Obviously you won’t have hot water or other big luxuries, but Marina is an exceptional host and will make you feel at home. Keep in mind that, due to the location, you’ll need a motorbike for everything. If that doesn’t bother you and you want to save, go for it!
