If you are planning a trip to the Philippines and want to connect two of its best-known islands, Siargao and Bohol, you’re in the right place. Here we’ll explain how to get from Siargao to Bohol step by step.
The first thing to know is that with both options you’ll need to go via Cebu. It’s the fastest way to get from Siargao to Bohol. Of course, you could also visit intermediate islands such as Camiguin or Leyte, but the simplest way is to do it via the Visayas capital.
How to get from Siargao to Bohol fast: flight + ferry
This is the fastest way to get from Siargao to Bohol. Here’s how to do it, step by step:
- Book a flight from Siargao to Cebú: these flights take about 1 hour and are operated by Philippine Airlines and Cebu Pacific Air (or its Cebgo subsidiary).
There are now several daily frequencies from Siargao to Cebú, but we recommend booking in advance, since it’s not unusual for tickets to sell out and for prices to rise if you buy close to the date. As long as you book ahead, prices usually range from 25€-50€.

- Take a taxi or a bus to Pier 1 at the Port of Cebú: at Cebú airport you can use the white taxis you’ll see outside the terminal (not the yellow ones, which are more expensive). Sometimes there’s a line, but it usually moves quickly. Another convenient option (though a tad pricier) is to get a Grab car via the app. Depending on traffic, the price will vary, but it normally comes to just over 250 pesos. The ride can take from 30 minutes to 1 hour.
For budget travelers, there’s a bus called MyBus that runs from the airport to the SM City mall (40 pesos) and from there to the port. It’s a cheaper but slower option.
- The last step to get from Siargao to Bohol is to take one of the boats from Cebú to Bohol (Tagbilaran): Companies such as Oceanjet depart frequently from 5:00 to 17:40, with some night options like Lite Shipping (at 22:00 to Tagbilaran and at 1:00 to Tubigon). Prices are around 800 pesos.
- Once in Tagbilaran, depending on where your accommodation in Bohol is, you’ll need to take another transfer:
- If you’re going to Alona Beach/Panglao: you can opt for a taxi (500 pesos), a tricycle (300 pesos) or a jeepney (25 pesos). More details here.
- If you’re going to Loboc: you can take a tricycle to Dao Terminal for about 20 pesos and then a jeepney or bus for around 50 pesos. You can also negotiate a taxi. More info in How to get to Loboc.
- If you’re going to Anda: you can take a bus (100 pesos) or a van (120 pesos). In How to get to Anda we tell you more. If you want extra comfort, we can share a contact for a private car to Anda.
