We already told you at length about all the things to do in Port Barton, where we highlighted how in love we are with its authenticity. Although until a few years ago there were few hotels in Port Barton, in recent times small hostels and the odd resort with more amenities have been appearing.
With a very backpacker vibe, most of the places where to stay in Port Barton are small and fairly basic. Although it is possible to find accommodation in situ, keep in mind the date when you visit the village, since at times such as Easter, Christmas, the May long weekend or even July and August (coinciding with Europeans’ holidays) it can be a bit more difficult. In addition, if you want something with good value for money, don’t leave it to the last minute when looking for where to stay in Port Barton because, unfortunately, as in El Nido, with the increase in its popularity and prices, it is getting harder and harder.
Here we are going to tell you which we think are the best places to stay in Port Barton, a corner of Palawan that we have been lucky enough to visit many times since 2015. We will divide them by budget/type so that it’s easier for you to find one that fits what you’re looking for.

Port Barton or San Vicente?
Hotel search engines can sometimes confuse us when booking and, in this case, it sometimes happens that when you look for where to stay in Port Barton you get results both in the town itself and in other, more distant places in San Vicente. In fact, Port Barton is a neighborhood (barangay) of San Vicente, so it can end up being quite confusing.
In our opinion, staying in Port Barton TOWN is the best alternative. It is a quiet place and ideal for making a base and enjoying all its attractions. However, if you feel like getting totally away from the hustle and bustle, you can also spend a few days in Long Beach, San Vicente’s huge 8‑kilometer beach, or on a beach between the two places such as Nao Nao Beach, where the fabulous Sunset Colors is located. Many accommodations near Port Barton include the transfer, so it’s not a crazy option if what you want is to wake up to views of the beautiful sea surrounding Palawan without anyone bothering you, but keep in mind that going for dinner or lunch to Port Barton won’t be easy or quick, so it depends on what you’re looking for.
Bear in mind that if you stay in San Vicente it’s only to enjoy the beaches in the surroundings. Island hoppings in Port Barton also depart from there, but consider that they are farther away and therefore more expensive. In addition, after having also spent a few days there, we believe that the vibe in Port Barton is quite a bit better, as is the variety of restaurants/hotels. In any case, you have more information in Things to do in San Vicente.

The best hotels to stay in Port Barton
We are basically going to divide them by price, starting with more backpacker options, aimed mainly at solo travelers looking for hostels.
Best backpacker hostels to stay in Port Barton
If you don’t mind sharing a room and you’re looking for something affordable where you can meet people, a good option is to opt for a hostel to stay in Port Barton. Until recently the offer was almost nil, but little by little charming places are emerging, which we tell you about here.
CocoRico Hostel
If what you’re looking for is fun, meeting people and partying, you’ve come to the right place. CocoRico Hostel is the liveliest place to stay in Port Barton (or to have a few drinks, if you prefer). Besides the parties, all travelers leave in love with the great vibe and the staff’s help, how comfortable the beds are, and the location. They have mixed dorms for 10 people with air conditioning and lockers from $10 per night, a more than good price for what they offer.
By the way, if you’re not a fan of party hostels, you don’t have to worry that much either, since they usually turn the music off around 10h30pm.

Russel Place
Although we include it among hostels for solo backpackers, it’s a good option both for couples and groups of friends looking for an affordable place to stay in Port Barton, but one that will also give them good memories. Russel Place is a small hotel that has been operating very successfully in the town for several years now and, unsurprisingly, travelers give it a rating of 8,7 on Booking.
With an ideal location, it is a set of small cabins that are very well looked after, in which you can find single and double rooms (with or without air conditioning), but also shared dorms with 4 and 6 beds, each with its fan, from $7 per night. The bathrooms are shared, but they keep them spotless. Even so, the stars of this hotel in Port Barton are its staff, who will help you as much as possible to enjoy your stay.

Other hostels in Port Barton you might like
If the above aren’t your thing, check out these other hostels in Port Barton:
- Garpeza Backpackers: right in the center and recently renovated, with super pleasant common areas. The dorms have bunks with curtains, which gives them more privacy, and they also have doubles with or without bathroom. All with air conditioning. One of the best hostels in Port Barton.
- Dheltor Hilltop: it’s a little out of the way and doesn’t have a 100% backpacker vibe, but its single rooms are very good and it has a pool.
- MiL’s Hillside Tourist Inn: close to the bus terminal and with a homey feel.
Best budget hotels in Port Barton
If you’re looking for where to stay in Port Barton without breaking the bank, don’t worry—there’s plenty on offer and at prices that are much more competitive than in other parts of Palawan. Here’s a small selection of hotels in Port Barton under $20 per night for a double room.
Hashtag Tourist Inn
Clean, spacious rooms, close to the beach and run by a very loving family. Each room has its little terrace and there is a small shared kitchen in case you want to make your own breakfast. The shower has hot water, but there is no air conditioning, only a fan. Plus: each room has a safe, something that is really worth it, unfortunately, given the thefts that sometimes occur in Port Barton. Prices are around $17 per night.

Nellie’s Tourist Inn
This was our accommodation in Port Barton the first time we stayed in this charming town and we visit it every time we return. It is the home of a very charming Filipino family who set up two rooms and a small bungalow they have in their garden for guests.
The rooms are simple and share a bathroom, but you can enjoy a huge living room and a kitchen only for guests. The bungalow has room for 2 people and has a private bathroom and air conditioning for only $30. The double room costs about $12. A safe bet for where to stay in Port Barton. If you go, give Nellie a huge kiss from us—she’s our grandma in Port Barton!

Dhong and Eden Home
Another family‑run accommodation in Port Barton, located in the heart of town and a few minutes’ walk from the beach. Its rooms are super spacious and even have a nice big wardrobe to leave your things. They have a fan and air conditioning, as well as mosquito screens on the windows. The Wi‑Fi is quite fast and, in addition, you have a small terrace with your own table where they leave a thermos with hot water every morning so you can make yourself coffee or tea.
If you’re traveling as a group, choose the triple room, which has 3 double mattresses and fits up to 6 people for just $50. We booked it to try other accommodation options in Port Barton for you and the truth is that we were very comfortable because everything is spotless.

Eashantis Place
This is one of the classic accommodations in Port Barton and we decided to try it on our last visit to see how it was. The truth is that we liked it a lot and wouldn’t hesitate to repeat because everything was spotless, the family who run it are very friendly and it is in a very quiet area of town, so we were able to sleep wonderfully.
You can choose between budget double rooms, family rooms (for up to 3 people) and quadruples, but all of them have air conditioning and a private bathroom, as well as a pleasant little terrace for breakfast. In the case of the family rooms (we stayed in one of these) and quadruples, there is also a water heater for the shower. Although breakfast is not included, they always leave hot water to make yourself coffee and, if you want to save, you can use the kitchen in the hostel. Prices start at $20 per night.

More budget hotels in Port Barton
If the above are already full or don’t convince you, here are other recommendations of ours that are likewise well located in Port Barton:
- Jeno Tourist Inn: a few steps from the bus terminal, this accommodation in Port Barton is simple but clean and modern. It has double rooms with a fan and others with air conditioning, and in all of them you have a water heater in the shower. From $16 per night.
- Vincent Lloyd’s Guestroom: besides the luck of having Vincent as a host (he’s super nice and helps with everything), it’s a clean, cheap place (from $18 per night) and well located (also next to the bus terminal).
- Victordellia Hilltop Hostel: it’s true that it’s a bit farther from the center, but this place is charming, with nice bungalows and a cool pool for just $23 per night with breakfast.
Where to stay in Port Barton – Mid‑range hotels
For those looking for a little more comfort, we’ve made a selection of hotels in Port Barton in the $25–40 range that we’ve tried over all these years.
Ausan Beach Front Cottages
This is one of our favorite hotels in Port Barton and the one we recommend if you’re looking for something right on the seafront. It’s a small complex with all kinds of rooms: with a fan, with air conditioning, with sea views, with garden views, family rooms… The restaurant is great and the breakfast (depending on the room type it’s included in the price) is very complete.
It’s true that in recent years prices have gone up and are now around $22 for the most basic one, but even so, we believe it’s still one of the best places to stay in Port Barton on a budget given its location.

Sol’s Inn
Nellie’s daughter opened a hostel in 2020 with 6 rooms in a very quiet area of Port Barton (a 5‑minute walk from the beach and with restaurants nearby), where you can still feel that local life that made us fall in love when we first arrived.
We were the fifth guests after they opened and we enjoyed their brand‑new rooms with fan, air conditioning, and hot water, as well as Sol’s hospitality. Rooftop coffees, with views of the palm trees as the town wakes up, were one of our favorite moments in the 5 nights we spent there. Plus, prices are pretty good, starting at $28. Please, if you stay here, give her a big hug from us too.

Other mid‑range hotels in Port Barton
If the ones above don’t convince you or are full, these hotels in Port Barton will win you over:
- Hotel Oasis Port Barton: a little step up in quality, but also in price (around $40 per night for a double). Spacious rooms with fan or air conditioning and hot‑water showers. Breakfast included—one of our favorites!
- Ferranco Tourist Inn: double rooms from $29 with shared bathroom but with breakfast included. Everything spotless, right in town, with friendly staff… They have quadruple and single rooms, so it’s ideal for all types of travelers.
- Lady Ghagha Room Rentals: travelers give this Port Barton accommodation a 9.4 for good reasons. From $28 you get super‑clean double rooms with air conditioning. Plus, you’ll meet Ghaga, a lovely lady who will help you with everything she can.
Best resorts in Port Barton
If you can invest a little money, it will go much further here than in other tourist destinations in the country. Resorts in Port Barton are still reasonably priced and here are the ones we consider the best. Expect prices to start at $50.
Rubin Resort
If you need a hotel in Port Barton with great value for money and “extra” services like a pool, this is your place! Although it is not right on the beach, Rubin Resort is 25 meters from it and the rooms are very pleasant, as each has its own little terrace facing the pool. The double room starts at $50, which may seem a bit pricey, but we really think it’s well worth it.

Valerie Lodge
Bali‑style little cabins opened in 2019 and decorated with lots of style. For us, at the moment, it’s one of the best places to stay in Port Barton.
The beds are super comfortable and the rooms have air conditioning. They’re about a 5‑minute walk from the center—no big deal—and you gain in tranquility. If you’re looking for something special, it won’t disappoint. Prices are around $45 per night.

Parrots Boutique Resort
One of the newest in the neighborhood! This boutique little hotel in the heart of Port Barton has impeccable decor with lots of local crafts and a pool where you can take a refreshing dip after coming from the beach. For us, as of today, it’s the best hotel in town by far.
They have double rooms, other double deluxe rooms with a beautiful balcony, and spacious studios with a kitchen with all kinds of details, and of course, air conditioning. The service is very friendly and, in addition, includes a hearty breakfast. Prices start at $80 per night, so if you find a room, don’t hesitate and book NOW. For us it is possibly the best hotel in Port Barton right now.

More places like this in Port Barton
If you want more alternatives, here are a few more resort options in Port Barton:
- Greenviews Resort and Restaurant Port Barton: right on the beach and at one end of it, so it’s a super‑quiet spot. From $40 you can have your own cabin with sea views.
- Teteng’s Apartelle: well‑kept rooms from $43 per night arranged around a pleasant pool. It’s located quite close to the beach.
Best hotels around Port Barton
The town of Port Barton is a great place to stay, but you also have the option to get a bit more isolated in the surroundings and have the experience of stepping out of your room and having the beach right in front of you. The only thing to consider is that, since they are away from town, you’ll have to limit yourself to eating and dining at the hotel or the few nearby places. If that’s what you’re after, check out these places we love:
Prince John Beachfront Cottages
As we indicated at the beginning, if you want to spend a few days of total relaxation and feel like on Supervivientes (but with comforts), you can opt to look for accommodation near Port Barton. Such is the case of Prince John Beachfront Cottages, which is located on Nao Nao Beach. The boat transfer to Port Barton is usually included in the room price (although it’s best to ask, since usually it’s only one‑way and/or the return when you do checkin), which starts at $19 and will be everything you imagine and more for this kind of experience. John will take care of everything—just go with the flow.
Note that it’s common for there to be no electricity at night, so if you run hot you’ll miss the fan, and that you need to pay for drinking water, in case you want to consider the following options we’ll mention.

Sunset Colors
Very close to the previous one but with better facilities, this is the hotel in Port Barton we recommend for a truly relaxing stay. The bungalows are ideal, well‑equipped (though note they don’t have air conditioning and there’s no door separating the bathroom and bedroom, just a curtain) and they have a terrace with sea views where you can spend hours and hours. They have free kayaks for guests and also give spectacular massages while you listen to the sound of the waves. The restaurant, in our opinion, is better than the previous hotel’s.
From the hotel they arrange the island hoppings and they take you to Port Barton free of charge (out and back at checkin and checkout; outside those transfers you have to pay 1,500 pesos). The double room costs about $36. In short, a great experience and not expensive at all. We recommend booking quickly because it’s becoming very popular.

Mariejoy Haven Beach Resort
Located on the same beach as the previous ones, but here there’s a step up in quality in the rooms, which all have sea views and beds with mosquito nets, and are also very spacious. However, you need to consider that there’s no electricity in them until 6pm, so you’ll have to charge your devices in the common areas. In this case, the round‑trip transfer to Port Barton is not included.

More places like this to stay in Port Barton
Although there isn’t a huge variety, here are a few more options for staying around Port Barton:
- Coconut Garden Island Resort: located on Cagnipa Island. Even more “rural,” but ideal for switching off. From only $23 per night.
- Cabang Campsite – Private Island Experience: also on Cagnipa. The tents have mattresses and sheets, and the common areas are lovely. From $25 for a double.
Best hotels in San Vicente
Staying in Port Barton is fabulous, but if you have more days, we suggest getting away from it all in San Vicente. Long Beach is considered the longest white‑sand beach in the Philippines—here you’ll find a few resorts for lying down lazing around and not doing much else. You can go to San Vicente directly from El Nido or Puerto Princesa by van; it’s also feasible to negotiate a tricycle or, if you’re skilled on a motorbike, ride one.
In any case, you have all the information you need in Things to do in San Vicente.
Victoria Beach House
When we spent a few days in San Vicente, this is where we stayed. It’s really the only one with a decent value for money for how little there is in the town of Alimanguan, which is actually the nicest in the whole San Vicente area.
This small guesthouse is right on the beachfront, and that’s its top feature because the beach is also super beautiful and unspoiled. The rooms are small and not very luxurious (they do have air conditioning and hot water), but they’re clean and the staff are friendly. Plus, the internet connection, given where it is, works quite well. Even so, what we like most is the front area, on the beach sand, with several hammocks and tables where you can enjoy an epic breakfast.

Club Agutaya
Modern and beautiful hotel in San Vicente, Palawan, located right on Long Beach, in a particularly lovely area and with its own umbrellas, sun loungers, and bar/restaurant. The facilities are gorgeous, as it’s on the beach and they have a spectacular pool surrounded by palm trees. Prices are around $100 for two people.

The Hotel Elizabeth Resort and Villas
Very recently opened, we were blown away when we saw such a construction in such a non‑touristy part of the Philippines… Maybe it’s because they see a lot of potential since there’s already an airport, but San Vicente is really one of the quietest places we’ve seen in Palawan. You only have to take a look at the photos to be amazed by these villas with a pool and every luxury detail, designed with incredible taste.
Prices start at $120 with breakfast included. It’s not cheap, but we have no doubt it will be a hit with such architecture and location. If you’re thinking of something special, this is your spot!
