Jairo Gausachs
Hi, I’m Jairo Gausachs, co-founder of Travel Around the Philippines and Viajar por Filipinas.
I’ve been working in travel media and SEO for more than 15 years, creating travel content for brands and publications such as Skyscanner, LATAM Airlines and IATI Seguros, where I managed the company’s travel blog for ten years.
My first big trip to Asia was in 2010, when I spent six months backpacking across the region with no fixed plan. In 2014, during a round-the-world trip, I met Claudia, who is now my wife and the other half of this project.
Together, we created Viajar por Filipinas, the leading Spanish-language travel resources about the Philippines, and later launched Travel Around the Philippines to help English-speaking travelers plan independent trips around the country.
We work on our guides every day, updating practical information, checking routes, improving recommendations and sharing what we’ve learned from years of travelling around the Philippines. We have also collaborated with tourism offices and local businesses across the country.
Outside travel, I love pizza, The Beatles and Nintendo.
Expertise: Philippines, Independent Travel, SEO, Travel Content, Social Media, Travel Insurance.
