On one of our latest visits to Coron, after spending a few days exploring Busuanga Island from Concepción, we headed to the town with the idea of continuing to discover it before embarking on the adventure of the expedition from Coron to El Nido for 4 days and 3 nights. A twist of fate meant that a reader of the website couldn’t use her hotel reservation and passed it on to us. That’s how we had the chance to enjoy a few days at the Acacia Garden Inn in Coron, a highly recommended hotel that we want to detail in this article.
Location of Acacia Garden Inn: 9 minutes from Coron Town center
It’s no secret that, just like in El Nido, although what you can see from there when doing island hopping is spectacular, the town itself is far from a place that makes you fall in love. Also, coming from a small village like Concepción, we wanted to stay in a hotel that would still give us a quiet, relaxed location, away from the traffic and noise of the center.
On the other hand, we didn’t want that to turn into a downside and force us to rely on renting a motorbike or always going back and forth by tricycle. Thus, the Acacia Garden Inn in Coron ticked all the location boxes we were looking for: it is in a super quiet spot, far from the noise, and in under 10 minutes you can get there on foot. Plus, even though it’s on a peaceful street with lots of greenery, in a one‑minute walk you can reach the main road and catch transport there to get to the center faster if you’re in a hurry or simply don’t feel like walking.
Acacia Garden Inn, a highly recommended hotel in Coron
The Acacia Garden Inn welcomed us with its lush, well‑kept garden, where there are a handful of tables to sit and relax or have breakfast, and the giant, beautiful acacia trees that give it its name. After entering its large main hall, where the reception is located, there are also different tables, sofas, and a water tank where you can refill your reusable bottle, with either cold or room‑temperature water.
There, while we waited for our room to be prepared, we took the opportunity to work for a while on our laptops and check how the free Wi‑Fi at Acacia Garden Inn worked. When we were the only users, the connection was really fast and stable, but it’s true that as soon as a group of about 15 travelers arrived to do their check-in and all started using it at the same time, there were a few hiccups. Even so, generally over the following days we stayed there, the Wi‑Fi was stable and at a good speed.

Once the room was ready and we went in, we could see that we’d made the right choice staying here. The room at the Acacia Garden Inn is really very spacious, with plenty of room for your luggage and to move around comfortably. The bed is also large and very comfortable, the kind that makes it hard not to stay in it five more minutes in the morning.
The air conditioning, although not the “split” type we love to find, is very new and not very noisy. But if you’re not a big fan of using air conditioning, here you can access the balcony and let the air flow. This balcony seemed like a big plus for the room, as it’s an ideal place to relax with a view of the Acacia Garden Inn’s garden and even to have breakfast.

The room also has a TV with cable channels, a table, and a wardrobe to store your luggage. Everything has a simple yet lovely décor, with the walls painted in that very Filipino turquoise green. The downside we found? There is no safe in the rooms for documents, money, or valuables, something that’s always appreciated. That said, at all times we felt super safe and comfortable, and we’re not aware of any incidents involving other travelers at the Acacia Garden Inn in Coron.
The bathroom follows the same line as the rest of the room: simple yet elegant décor, clean, and with everything you might need: a hot‑water shower with great pressure (seriously, the best in many months) and the classic amenities for freshening up, with the plus that they aren’t single‑use, so not as much waste is generated.

Common areas and restaurant at Acacia Garden Inn in Coron
As we mentioned at the beginning, the hotel has two large common areas: the main hall and the garden. In both, it’s possible to enjoy the free breakfast that’s included in the room rate, another big plus for the Acacia Garden.
Every morning in the main hall, a station is set up where you can make tea or coffee to your liking. In the garden restaurant is where they’ll prepare whatever you want to eat. They offer the typical hotel variety that ranges from toast with jam to classic Filipino longganisa, as well as the tasty vegetable‑filled omelet we ordered every day. The restaurant staff aren’t exactly the most cheerful in all the Philippines, but everything they prepared for us was really tasty.

At night, they also offer a basic menu for those who want to have dinner at Acacia Garden Inn and not go out looking for a nearby restaurant around Coron Town.
Restaurants near Acacia Garden Inn
Once the sun goes down and temperatures drop, it’s very pleasant to head out after a day enjoying the thousands of wonders Coron offers. Just a few minutes from the hotel you’ll find recommended restaurants like these:
- Lolo Nonoy’s: one of the restaurants closest to the hotel. 100% Filipino ambiance and cuisine. You can try classics like pork sisig, pancit bihon, or grilled meats and fish. Do go with time to spare—they aren’t known for their speed.
- Trattoria Altrove and Altrove Express: these two pizzerias belong to the same chain that has restaurants in El Nido and Moalboal. In the Express version you can enjoy delicious pizzas, while at Trattoria Altrove they also have a good variety of pasta dishes that are finger‑licking good.
- Get Real: this restaurant was a pleasant surprise. Its menu is so varied it made us think of the classic saying “jack of all trades, master of none,” since they offer Mexican, Filipino, Italian food… But everything we ordered was excellent. Special mention to their burritos and their paninins.
- Dali Dali Food Station: never tried Korean food before? Now you have no excuse. Here you’ll find delicious (and very generous) dishes of dim sum, kimchi, ramen, or fried rice at a very good price. They also have plenty of vegan and vegetarian options.
