If you are going to travel to the Philippines, your itinerary will most likely take you through different islands in search of paradise beaches and experiences that make this an unforgettable adventure. Although it is possible to connect some islands by plane, the most common thing is that on your trip you will take a boat more than once to go from one to another. If you like to plan ahead, just as it is possible to book accommodation and flights in advance, there is the possibility to book ferry tickets in the Philippines online.
This is a highly recommended option, especially if you are going to travel in high season when thousands of Filipinos move around the country. In addition, it is a very convenient way to get the tickets while you are there, since you avoid arriving at the port with doubts about whether there will be seats available for the route you want to take.
Currently, 12Go is the only online platform that allows you to book ferry tickets in the Philippines online and, although it does not yet offer 100% of the existing routes, its list of available destinations grows monthly and it is possible to book for main ports such as El Nido or Cebu. Therefore, today we are going to tell you step by step how to use the page we use to book ferry tickets in the simplest way possible
Book ferry tickets in the Philippines step by step
You can book your ferry tickets in the Philippines using the following menu or by following the guide to do it from the booking website. In addition, at the end of this article you will find a link to the main routes in the country.
1. Choose the route you want to take
The first thing you must do to book your ferry ticket is access the booking website through this link: Book a ferry in the Philippines. Once there you will find a simple menu in which you must choose your departure port, arrival port, travel date and number of passengers. After that, simply click Find Tickets.
To make it easier for you, we are going to show you the process in images for one of the most popular routes, the ferry from El Nido to Coron.

2. Choose the ferry you want to book tickets for
Next, you will access a screen where you will see all the available options to cover the route you are looking for. You will see that on the right side the price of the journey per person is shown and, below it, the total price for all the members of the booking.
Also note that, on the left, there is a drawing of a boat, a van or a plane, since you can also book flights and overland trips from this page.
In some cases, there is also the option to choose the class you want to travel in. On long routes such as the ferry from Manila to Coron, for example, it will allow you to choose between: economy class, super value class, 4‑bed cabin or 6‑bed cabin. If you click on the “i” for Information you can see details about each of them. Once you have chosen one of the ferries that appear there, simply click Book now.

3. Fill in personal details and pay
You’re almost there! When entering your personal details it is important that you do not make a mistake when entering your phone number and, above all, your email, as this is where you will receive the confirmation of the ferry ticket booking in the Philippines that you are making.

The last step will be to choose between paying by bank card or Paypal, enter the details and click Pay. Easy, right?

Make sure, once you have made the payment, that you have received the email (sometimes it may arrive in the “Spam” folder). This will be the information you will have to show, at the office of the company you are going to board with, before passing the security check.

Travel around the Philippines by ferry, useful info
- If you are a bit sensitive to the cold, you should bear in mind that in the classes where you travel inside the ferry it is usually very cold. It is not a bad idea to be prepared with something warm just in case. We usually choose to go on deck to avoid that.
- Many of the boats have a small “bar” inside. We put “bar” in quotes because what you will most often find there are soft drinks, instant coffee, and packaged noodles to have with hot water.
- If you tend to get seasick, check the sea conditions before boarding. Fast ferries sometimes “bounce” over the water, and a biodramina can help you prevent possible nausea.
- Christmas, Holy Week and other peak‑season dates are synonymous with full boats. Book in advance so you don’t get left on the dock!
