Claudia Rodríguez
Kumusta ka? I’m Claudia Rodríguez, the co-founder of this huge guide about the Philippines that is Travel Around th Philippines.
To cut a long story short, I’m from the “old school” of travel blogs and, in fact, when there wasn’t much on the internet about the country yet, back in 2010 I launched my first blog (Mabuhay Filipinas) where I shared my stories about living here. After a phase suited up in an office in a company in Madrid, where I put my degrees in Business Administration and Law to use, in 2014 I put my whole life on hold to throw myself into my passion: traveling. I bought a one-way ticket and that’s when I created another travel blog called Solo Ida, which led me to become who I am today.
I started traveling the world on my own and quickly realized that the one year I initially thought I would be away wasn’t going to be enough. So I looked for a way to make it sustainable by working online while I traveled. That’s how I became a professional travel blogger and SEO expert, working for big companies such as Skyscanner, LATAM Airlines and IATI Seguros.
Over all these years I’ve been lucky enough to travel independently through more than 70 countries, but, as you can imagine, the Philippines is my favorite. I’ve lived in one of the typical condominiums in Manila, I’ve explored the country from north to south on my own, with friends and with family, and it’s also where I met the man who is now my husband and the other half of Travel Around the Philippines.
The “crazy” idea of creating an independent, honest, easy-to-read and up-to-date website about the archipelago came to us shortly after our paths crossed and, today, after many seasons spent roaming around here, I can say I’m a Philippines travel specialist.
We work every day to offer you the best content about the Philippines, not only about places that are already very popular with tourists, but also about others we dare to explore on our own. We constantly update the information and we love helping you make your itineraries perfect, either by guiding you or by sharing contacts of people and companies we know are worth it.
I love diving (guess what, I started diving in the Philippines), I’m obsessed with Google Maps (always on the hunt for tasty food) and I’m able to travel with 3-4 kilos of clothes.
Experience: Philippines, Travel, SEO, Social Media.
