Ready to enjoy the gorgeous beaches and other things to see and do in Bantayan? Then it’s time to look for hotels. Here we’re going to recommend the best places to stay in Bantayan and we’ll also tell you which areas are most interesting for enjoying the island’s activities.
The best area to stay in Bantayan
Unlike other tourist spots in the Philippines such as El Nido or Siargao, Bantayan doesn’t really have very distinct areas to stay.
Most hotels in Bantayan are concentrated in the Santa Fe area. This is a small town where, besides a beautiful beach, you’ll find a church, a market, a bar or two and several restaurants, so it makes a great base. Plus, the port from which you arrive in Bantayan from Cebu is barely a 20‑minute walk away.
In Santa Fe you’ll find both budget hostels and the odd pricier (nothing crazy) beachfront resort.
Santa Fe is fairly quiet as it is, but if you want absolute peace, there are also a few options north of the port. In any case, at the end of this guide you have a map of accommodation in Bantayan where you can locate them all and get a better idea.
Hostels for backpackers in Bantayan
If you’re traveling solo and want to meet people or simply save money, the bad news is there aren’t many hostels in Bantayan. However, there is one right in the very center of Santa Fe that’s perfect for what you’re looking for:
Casa Isabel Hostel
Located in the heart of Santa Fe, right in front of the church, it is the only hostel you’ll find in Bantayan. Besides decent 6‑bed rooms (fan only), you have double rooms (with and without air conditioning) and family rooms at quite good prices, considering how expensive staying in Bantayan has become.
What we like most about Casa Isabel, apart from the backpacker vibe, are the common areas. They have a neat garden and, on top of that, a huge kitchen that’s great if you’re tired of hunting for restaurants. Bed prices start at €14 and include breakfast. If you’re traveling as a couple and want to economize, you should also know they have doubles with a fan from €18, also including breakfast.

Everyday Sunday
This hostel in Bantayan has a score above 9 on Booking and it doesn’t surprise us because it’s perfect whether you’re traveling solo or as a couple and want to meet people without sacrificing comfort. Everything works well here (including the Wi‑Fi) and it feels more like an elegant, charming place than a hostel. It’s true the bunk beds don’t have curtains, but they’re comfortable and each one has its own outlet and locker. The common rooms are also super pleasant and spacious.
If you’re traveling as a couple or with one or more friends, you can choose between doubles and family rooms, which start at just €23 and will give you more privacy without having to pay much more.

Budget hotels in Bantayan
If you don’t care much about your hotel’s décor or whether it has air conditioning or a fan, you’ll easily find places to stay in Bantayan for €15–20. Here are some of the options we’ve tried or that other travelers have recommended to us over the years:
Edsan Apartment
If you’re planning to spend the whole day at the beach and hardly set foot in your hotel, this is one of the cheapest places to stay in Bantayan. It’s very close to the port and, in addition, the owner offers free pick‑up. Rooms are small and the water pressure isn’t very strong (there’s no heater), but for the €22 the most basic one costs, you can’t ask for much more.

Allen Marie Shiphaus
Don’t expect big luxuries, but you can sleep in Bantayan for just €11 a night. The simple rooms of this boat‑shaped hotel (yes, hence the name) are enough to spend the night after a whole day of adventures around the island. You’ll sleep better in the standard or deluxe ones, which have air conditioning, but the staff is nice and it’s very close to the port.

Miadristar
Feel at home in this accommodation with only 3 rooms with private bathroom and air conditioning from just €22. You can lie in one of their hammocks, use the kitchen and even the washing machine at no extra cost and, above all, you’ll get help from its charming owner, Steven, who will tell you all of Bantayan’s secrets, including where to rent a motorbike at a good price.
As for the location, it’s about a 10‑minute walk to Kota Beach and much less to the port, so if you don’t mind walking a bit, it’s a great choice.

Sunshine Paradise Inn
If we had to choose among all the places to stay in Bantayan, we’d pick this one. A few steps from Sugar Beach and Kota Beach, in a very quiet area, it’s a fairly simple resort but with very attentive and helpful service. The rooms are spacious and, above all, very clean. The most basic ones (about €20) only have a fan, but you’ll also find rooms with air conditioning.

Mid-range hotels in Bantayan
If you can pay a little more (from €35), you’ll find places to stay in Bantayan with good value for money like the following:
SMAK’s Hotel
Without a doubt, this is one of the best places to stay in Bantayan. Located in Santa Fe itself, close to everything yet in a quiet area, it has modern, spacious rooms with very relaxing décor (we love the wooden touches shaped like the island), fiber internet and a TV with Netflix from just €40 per night with breakfast included. They rent bicycles and motorbikes at good prices.

TEZA Resort
Opened in 2022, this modern accommodation in Bantayan isn’t in the center, but we do think it has a perfect location if you plan to rent a motorbike or bicycle because for €55 you get a gorgeous room with garden or pool views and breakfast included. If you can’t be bothered to go out for dinner, the hotel has a restaurant that’s quite nice for the evenings.

Check these out too—they’re great:
- Genna’s Tourist Inn Santa Fe: this modest accommodation with only 2 rooms is a very good option that can cost around €30 per night. It’s a studio with a full kitchen right in the center of town. The décor isn’t very pretty, but the value for money is excellent. Take a look here.

Resorts to stay in Bantayan
If you’ve come to Bantayan to get out of bed, walk three steps and lie on the beach, you need a resort. Below we recommend the best resorts to stay in Bantayan:
Anika Island Resort
Located to the north of Santa Fe port, it’s in an area with hardly any restaurants, so keep in mind you’ll need to rely on a motorbike or tricycles if you want to go have lunch or dinner in the town’s restaurants. Anika Island Resort is on the beach, but it also has a wonderful pool that’s perfect for when the tide is low. The gardens are very well maintained and the rooms are large and have a small porch to relax on. From €65 per night.

Jelly’s Haven Resort
New resort located near Ompong Beach, in a fabulous stretch of beach. The rooms don’t stand out for their décor, but they’re spacious, very clean and have everything you need to spend a few beach‑holiday days in Bantayan. It’s beachfront and even has a gym. Prices are around €50 per night.

Amihan Beach Cabanas
By far, the best hotel in Bantayan. On the tip of Kota Beach, which is, in our opinion, the best beach area, you’ll find seafront bungalows made of nipa (a palm very typical in the Philippines) but with every comfort. The bathrooms are new, although the water pressure is average. From €115 per night with breakfast. Highly recommended!
